This
week marks the release of the second volume of the Teenbeat
Tribute, Relax
Brother, Relax: A Twentieth Anniversary Tribute to Teenbeat
Records (which will be the most downloaded My
Mean Magpie release to date).
Struggle
at the Snuggle Factory was one of the 20 bands to
contribute to the project. Rather than submit just one
song the prolific Mike Richard sent in two. His version
of Mark Robinson's "Telephone Diary Talker"
appears on the compilation above and "Hospital Bruiser"
is an MP3 available exclusively through this site. The
MP3, unlike many other will remain online until the issuing
of My Mean Magpie #30 (a yet to be titled sampler) where
it will be included in FLAC format.
Incidentally, the next release
in the works by My Mean Magpie is a double CD length release
of Mike Richard's Affections, Affects 1-4 recorded
in 2002 at CalArts.
