It's that time of year and Christmas is fast approaching. In preparation,
I decided to offer up some of Teenbeat's best Christmas songs
to spread throughout the month. This month starts with Tracy Shedds
rendition of "Silent Night," which according to her
discography was her first released song.
I'm not sure where Tracy Shedd got her start, but the earliest
band I could find her being a part of was Sella, with now husband
James
Trittan (Audio Explorations). And though this record leads
me to believe she spent some time in Boston (school maybe?), she
currently resides in her hometown of Jacksonville, FL.
The 7" was self-released with a photocopied insert. On the
flipside of the seven inch are two Christmas songs by the band
Audio Explorations, "White Christmas" and "Litter
Drummer Boy."
Tracy has also contributed another song, "I Will Keep You
Warm," to Planting
Seeds Records Christmas with Planting Seeds Records
(PSR-024), presumably about Christmas though I haven't heard it.
According to the website there's still a few copies available.
I'll put it down on my
wishlist for anyone who's looking.
"I recorded the Silent Night 7" as a x-mas gift
for friends one year while living in Boston. I recorded it live
in my kitchen. You should have seen all the cords everwhere, it
was hilarious..I think we printed 500..." — Tracy
Shedd, Dec 15 2003.
