| TUSCADERO "Boys
Don't Cry" (Radioplaque/Corduroy 01) |
Suzi
Quatro played the character Leather Tuscadero, and
Roz
Kelly played her sister Pinky Tuscadero in the television
series Happy
Days. The character of Leather Tuscadero was based
on Suzi herself, and in 1993 it inspired the name of DC
group Tuscadero.
Tuscadero, was signed at their first show,
and went on to record a few singles and The Pink Album
(TB 159) for Teenbeat, before being signed to Elektra.
In 1998, they released My Way or the Highway (Elektra/TB
259) and were dropped from the label shortly after.
Somewhere right in the middle of this
Tuscadero recorded a version of The
Cure song "Boys Don't Cry" for Give
Me the Cure a CD with proceeds going to the Whitman-Walker
Clinic (named after Walt
Whitman and Mary
Edwards Walker) for AIDS reasearch.
