| HIS NAME IS ALIVE "Whiter"
(time STEREO) |
Ten weeks of
Teenbeat related things, I was hard pressed for what to
use as the tenth file. Would it be a live Blast Off Country
Style song (tune in next week!)? How about the song "Mark
Robinson" by The Graverobbers? A PDF of a Teenage
Gang Debs Issue? How about the Teenbeat Graphica cover
for some obscure zine called Popism?
Anyhow, I decided on His
Name is Alive for many reasons. Warn Defever of the
band has been involved in only one project with Teenbeat
(producing and mixing Grenadine's Nopalitos LP/CD). Mark
Robinson and Bridget Cross (at the time in Air Miami)
did a rough version of "Lips" with him (available
on Rare Tracks from Time
Stereo).
Before you ask, "Whiter? What is
that?" you should be told that the song is in fact
called "Imperial" and appeared in it's earliest
form as "Empire" on Mark Robinson's Superstar
cassette. In it's finished form it appeared on Imperial
FFRR (TB 77). Sadly, it is out of print.
From the Liner Notes:
"was my life really in danger? were there really
supernatural forces causing catastrophes all around me?
i have agreed to release this album in the hopes that
i may begin to lead a normal life." -- warn defever,
age 31
