MARINE GIRLS "Love to Know" (Cherry Red 44)

Last week we enjoyed a cover of a Teenbeat artist; this week we enjoy a song covered by one.

This song from The Marine Girls 1983 album Lazy ways was covered on Unrest's Isabel Bishop 7" (TB 70) that would later be reissued by 4AD.

The Marine Girls were a minimalist trio formed in England in 1980. Only singer/songwriter Tracy Thorn would go on to brighter things after the bands breakup in 1983. Thorn would release a solo CD and later teamed up with Ben Watt to form Everything But the Girl.
